Finding a place to stay and eat would not be a problem when you’re in Pakil. There are three resorts in town, namely: Monte Real Resort, Villa Anna Resort and the Laguna Royal Resort. Each of which has amenities that would make your stay fun and memorable.
Sites
One famous site of the town is the Roman Catholic Church of Saint Peter of Alcantara, which was built during the Spanish time in 1732. The church has a Corinthian and Ionic style.
Another famous sites of the town are the Turumba swimming pools which is believed to be miraculous.
Events
The main tourist attraction of the municipality is during the Lupi Season, where thousands of devotees coming from nearby towns and provinces join the Turumba processions in honor of the Nuestra Señora de los Dolores de Turumba (Virgin of Sorrows of Turumba).Known as the largest and longest religious activity in the country, the Turumba is a religious dance which consists of skipping, hopping, jumping,prancing, whirling and gesticulating while chanting the song for the virgin of sorrows. This is danced by thousands of devotees who join the procession in honor of the virgin.
The Lupi fiestas of the Virgin of Turumba consist of seven novenas, corresponding to the seven sorrows of the Virgin Mary. A Turumba follows after every novena. The first Lupi is held on Friday before Palm Sunday and the last one is on Pentecost Sunday.

The municipality has an agricultural base economy. Farming and fishing
are the principal industries that produce agricultural products such as
coconut, rice and fruit trees.
Although small scale, hog, poultry and raising have always been traditional industries of the town, as well as for cow, carabao and goat raising. Cottage and home industries like handicraft, paper mache, woodcrafts and others are also their other source of livelihood. These cottage industries are increasing for export especially the wood filigree or wilting (pahiyas) products. Dressmaking, garments and stuffed toys are also revived. |
