Siniloan
History
The municipality of Siniloan was originally known as Guiling-Guiling when it was founded in 1579. It was recognized as a town four years later. The name was derived from the word "gumigiling" -- a Tagalog word for a grinding motion. It was believed that when the Spaniards came to this village, they saw women grinding rice. Hence the name.
