From its
people, history is replete with stories of heroism, foremost of whom is the
country’s national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal, the pride of Malayan race was born
and raised in Calamba City, Laguna. Other illustrious sons and duathers played
heroic deeds from the past to present. As a manifestation of its ciitzen’s
bravery and courage, one of the eight rays of the Philippine flag represent
Laguna in the country’s flight for freedom from colonizers. The present
generation is also endowed with love of the province and its nation.

Pagsanjan Falls, surfing in Caliraya Lake, hiking in Mt. Makiling, the

Mt. Makiling to hydro-electric plants in Caliraya-Botocan plant to roads,
bridges and infrastructures, gifted the province with world class industrial,
science and theme parks producing manufactured products, technological processes
to information and communication technology hardware, software and services.

of our luscious fruits, vegetables and rice from our farms with our farm
products of poultry and livestock. From Laguna de Bay, the country’s largest
lake, the seven lakes of San Pablo City and other inland bodies of water savor
our tilapia, bangus and native fishes.

Los Baños and hundreds of globally competitive institutions of learning public
and private train our people for local and foreign employment. We continuously
upgrade the literacy level of our people, develop and nurture the life-long
